Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 71 words
A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A LUBRICATING OIL WHICH COMPRISES CONTACTING A RESIDUE-CONTAINING OIL WITH A SOLVENT HAVING AN AFFINITY FOR AROMATICS TO EXTRACT AROMATIC COMPOUNDS FROM THE OIL, CATALYTICALLY HYDROCRACKING RESULTING RAFFINATE, RECOVERING FROM THE HYDROCRACKED PRPDUCT A FRACTION BOILING IN THE LUBRICATING OIL RANGE, SUBJECTING SAID FRACTION TO DEASPHALTING TREATMENT BY CONTACTING SAME WITH A LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT PARRAFIN AND SUBJECTING THE DEASPHALTED OIL TO A DEWAXING TREATMENT.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 71 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 in which the residue-containing oil is a vacuum residuum.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 in which the residue-containing oil is an atmospheric residuum.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 1 in which the viscosity index of the residue-containing oil is less than 70.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
The process of claim 1 in which the fraction boiling in the lubricating oil range has an initial boiling point between 650* and 675*F.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 1 in which the solvent having an affinity for aromatics is N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 in which the low molecular weight paraffin is propane.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 41 words
The process of claim 1 in which the dewaxing is effected by contacting the deasphalted oil with a catalyst comprising a hydrogenating component on a support comprising acid-leached mordenite having a silica-alumina mol ratio of at least 20:1 under dewaxing conditions.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 1 in which the dewaxing is effected by means of a solvent.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 9 in which the solvent is a mixture of methyl ethyl ketone and toluene.
