Abstract
Abstract A synthetic fiber substantially comprising: A. 5-40% by weight of a copolymer consisting of A. 20-80% BY WEIGHT OF POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, AND B. 80-20% BY WEIGHT OF ACRYLONITRILE, AND B. 60-95% by weight of a copolymer consisting of C. 55-95% BY WEIGHT OF STYRENE, AND D. 5-45% BY WEIGHT OF ACRYLONITRILE. This fiber is used for producing paper and has a potentially fibrillar texture. When beaten, it forms synthetic pulp having stalk fibrils and micro fibrils extending from the stalk fibrils. High-tenacity synthetic paper can be made of such fibers because this synthetic pulp is self-adhesive.
