Abstract
Abstract Nondiffusible p-sulfonamidophenols which are alkali-cleavable upon oxidation to release a diffusible color-providing moiety from the benzene nucleus having the formula: WHEREIN Col is a dye or dye precursor moiety, and Ballast is an organic ballasting radical which renders the compound nondiffusible in a photographic element during development with an alkaline processing composition.
