Abstract

Abstract Deposition of P2O5 on an electrically nonconductive substrate disposed between two electrodes, particularly in the formation of an electrolytic cell, is accomplished by passing gaseous phosphorus over a substrate, in the presence of water, while maintaining a potential between the electrodes sufficient to electrolyze the water and form P2O5 on the surface of the substrate in the region between the electrodes.
