Abstract

Abstract The windows of a motor vehicle are sealed and held in place between a pinch weld and trim strip on the vehicle using a hot melt elastomeric sealing composition which adheres tenaciously to the glass and metal parts without the application of a priming coat or the use of compression members. The hot melt composition consists of an intimate mixture of an elastomeric polymer, tackifying and plasticizing resins, and from about 0.2 to 12% of adhesion promoters together with fillers and other additives.
