Abstract

Abstract Oral products containing bis-biguanido hexane antibacterial agents are disclosed which are effective in preventing the accumulation of bacterial plaque and which do not stain teeth. Incorporation of a suitable reducing agent, such as ascorbic acid, has been found to prevent dental staining while maintaining the activity of the bis-biguanido hexanes in oral products.
