Abstract
Abstract This invention is directed to the shape selective conversion of a hydrocarbon charge over H-erionite, both natural and synthetic, which has been activated by exchanging with the ammonium ion as a first step, calcining in steam and exchanging with the ammonium ion. The conversion is conducted in the presence of a hydrogen atmosphere but in the absence of any hydrogenating catalyst such as a metal of the platinum group.
