Abstract

Abstract For the purpose of enabling a skid control arrangement of an automotive hydraulic braking system to be operable over an increased range of operating fluid pressure, the skid control arrangement is operable to control the skid of road wheels even when the operating fluid pressure is reduced below a cut-in pressure of an unloading valve incorporated into the source of the operating fluid pressure provided the operating fluid pressure and the braking fluid pressure are in a predetermined relation and if the operating fluid pressure is higher than a preload pressure of an accumulator unit of the operating fluid source.
