Abstract Process for preparing cyclohexanediones-(1,3) by reaction of a gamma -acylcarboxylic acid ester with a strongly basic condensing agent, in the presence of a solvent consisting essentially of carboxylic acid amides, phosphoric acid amides, sulfoxides, sulfones or macrocyclic polyethers.
