Abstract
Abstract R is alkyl or haloalkyl of one to five carbon atoms, R'' is R, OH or OR, R'''' is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl of one to 15 carbon atoms, R'''''' is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, chloroaryl or bromoaryl groups of one to 15 carbon atoms, and Z is CO, CS or SO2. The phosphorus compounds have utility as fire retardants and as biologically active materials. The present invention relates to new nitrogen-containing organophosphorus compounds having alkoxy or alkyl substituents bonded to phosphorus in ester or phosphine oxide structures and to organophosphorus acids that can be produced by hydrolysis of the esters.
