Abstract
Abstract A novel method of inhibiting or arresting the androgenic manifestations of testosterone and other androgens herein disclosed. In this novel method, the conversion of testosterone into its active form, namely 5 Alpha -dihydrotestosterone by the action of the enzyme testosterone 5 Alpha -reductase is impaired by the introduction into the metabolic system of certain compounds which inhibit the action of the enzyme. The compounds which inhibit the action of this enzyme also inhibit the growth of sebaceous organs.
