Abstract

Abstract A box spring includes a top wire mesh, a bottom frame, and saddle springs positioned between the top mesh and bottom frame. The saddle springs are formed of bent wire and have bottom legs extending into upwardly sloping legs and thence into connecting top transverse legs. The saddle springs are attached to the slats of the bottom frame by forming spring clips in their bottom legs, and resiliently deforming these clips to engage the slats. No other fasteners are required.
