Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a starter for starting a gas and/or vapour discharge lamp. According to the invention the switch element used is a transistor, the starter containing two discs made of a synthetic material which are interconnected by mechanically rigid electric conductors. Electric circuit elements form parts of the electric conductors and are included in the circuit for controlling the transistor.
