Abstract
Abstract The present invention relates to a braking device for mounting on a ski and intended to ensure the braking and stopping of skis detached from the wearer''s boots and preventing said skis from travelling loose down the ski tracks. The device comprises at least one braking blade mounted movably between two positions with respect to said ski and subjected to the action of control means adapted to move said blade from a braking position to a skiing position, said control means comprising in particular a fixing device with a retaining spring, adapted to slide longitudinally by the action of engaging or disengaging a boot from the ski so as to actuate said blade.

In combination with a releasable safety binding for ski boot on a ski, a braking device for ski, said safety binding comprising: longitudinally sliding means responsive to disengagement of said ski boot in said ski, said braking device comprising: at least one braking blade mounted in a movable manner with respect to said ski between two positions which include: a first skiing position where said braking blade extends above the snow-gliding face of said ski, a second braking position where said braking blade extends below the snow-gliding face of said ski to penetrate into the snow; control means for controlling the movement of said braking blade, actuated by an elastic member which expands after release of said ski boot; connecting means interconnecting the longitudinally sliding means responsive to disengagement of said ski boot and the control means; the longitudinally sliding means responsive to disengagement of said boot causing, through the connecting means, the movement of the control means whereby said braking blade moves into said braking position when said ski boot is released from the safety binding.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
33 words
A combination as defined in claim 2 wherein: said safety binding comprises a return spring to actuate the longitudinal sliding means; said elastic member being the said return spring of said safety binding.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
34 words
A combination as defined in claim 2 wherein: said longitudinal sliding means is actuated by a return spring located in a housing in said braking device; said elastic member being the said return spring.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
30 words
A braking device as defined in claim 2 wherein the connecting means comprises a rod secured to said longitudinal sliding means and disposed in the longitudinal axis of the ski.
Claim 8
