Abstract

Abstract Process for improving and modifying the properties of living human hair which comprises subjecting the hair to stretching by mechanical deformation, and converting from 10 to 50% of the cystine in the hair to lanthionine. The conversion is accomplished in an aqueous medium with an alkaline composition.
