Abstract
Abstract A method is proposed for the reduction of nitrogen oxides in a gaseous mixture containing the same, particularly in exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, to selectively form nitrogen as substantially the only nitrogen-containing product. The method comprises contacting a nitrogen-oxide containing gaseous mixture at an elevated temperature in a reducing atmosphere with a metal ruthenate.
