Abstract
Abstract Catalyst-inhibitor system for the polymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) having excellent properties for fabrication of fibers and films. The catalyst-inhibitor system comprises a combination of organic or inorganic salts of manganese and cobalt with acetyl triisopropyl titanate and a phosphate ester. This invention also is directed to an improved method of preparing synthetic linear polyesters utilizing the new catalyst-inhibitor system.
