Abstract

Abstract The bulk density of a flame spray powder of agglomerates of finely divided molybdenum or molybdenum alloy particles is increased by adding from 0.1 to 0.5 weight percent of finely divided nickel particles to the agglomerates and heating the agglomerates at a temperature of from 1050*C to 1300*C for from 1 to 7 hours, resulting in increased flame spray coating rates due to the increased weight of metal sprayed per unit of time.
