Abstract
Abstract Processes and compositions for altering the organoleptic properties of consumable materials utilizing 4-(methylthio)butane derivatives having the formula WHEREIN X is hydrogen and Y is a carbonyl oxygen; X is hydroxy and Y is two hydrogen atoms or a carbonyl oxygen; or X is lower alkoxy and Y is (a) carbonyl oxygen or (b) hydrogen and lower alkoxy, together with novel compositions to effectuate such methods and processes for producing such derivatives.
