Abstract
Abstract Ethylene and butadiene are copolymerized in the presence of a ternary catalyst system consisting of: (a) vanadium or vanadyl chloride; (b) an aluminum compound represented by the formula: Al RxX3 x, wherein R is alkyl, aryl, alicyclic or hydrogen, X is a halogen and 1 < OR = X < OR = 2; and (c) is an aluminum compound containing aluminum-nitrogen bonds, such as aluminum tris-dialkyl amide.
