Abstract

Abstract A microgas emulsion is disclosed behaving like a Newtonian liquid and consisting essentially of a fine dispersion of gas bubbles, substantially all of which are of colloidal dimensions, in a continuous liquid phase containing a soluble emulsifier in an amount sufficient to lower the surface tension of the liquid to a level at which the gas bubbles are stabilized. A process for producing these emulsions is provided by creating a region of low pressure in a flow of liquid containing the emulsifier and introducing gas into that region.
