Abstract
Abstract Water soluble dialkylaminoethyl vinyl ether interpolymers of the formula AND SALTS THEREOF WHEREIN R1 and R2 are each selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, or hydroxyethyl or taken together with the N atom to which they are attached a heterocyclic ring, X and Y are selected from vinyl monomers copolymerizable with said other monomers and wherein the proportions of a, b, c and d of said monomer units in said interpolymer calculated on the basis of weight percent of the interpolymer amount to 80-10 weight percent of a, 70-10 weight percent of b, 30-0 weight percent of c, and 20-0 weight percent of d. The interpolymers of the invention are useful as flocculants and retention aids.
