Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
104 words
A METHOD FOR INCREASING THE PERMEABILITY OF A SUBTERRANEAN FORMATION PENETRATED BY AT LEAST ONE WALL WELL WHICH EXTENDS FROM THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH TO THE FORMATION COMPRISING THE STEPS OF INJECTING AN AQUEOUS HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SOLUTION CONTAINING A STABILIZING AGENT THEREFOR THROUGH SAID WELL INTO THE SUBTERRANEAN FORMATION WHEREBY SAID SOLUTION DIFFUSES INTO THE FRACTURES OF THE FORMATION SURROUNDING SAID WELL, THE STABILIZING AGENT REACTS WITH METAL VALUES IN SAID FORMATION RESULTING IN A SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION OF SAID AGENT IN SAID SOLUTION, AND THE RESULTANT SUBSTANTIALLY UNSTABILIZED HYDROGEN PEROXIDE DECOMPOSES TO FORM A GASEOUS MEDIUM WHICH CAUSES ADDITIONAL FRACTURING OF THE FORMATION.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
16 words
The method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the subterranean formation contains copper metal values.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
47 words
The method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the concentration of the hydrogen peroxide in solution is from about 30 percent to about 98 percent, by weight, based on the total weight of said solution and the pH of said solution is less than about 6.0.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
35 words
The method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the stabilizing agent is an organophosphorus compound which precipitates out of said solution when said compound comes into contact with the metal values in the formation.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
15 words
The method as set forth in claim 4 wherein the formation contains chalcopyrite and pyrite.
