Abstract
Abstract Intermediate compounds and the process of manufacturing herbicidal active sulfoxide and sulfone compounds are described herein. The intermediate compounds have the following generic formula: wherein R is selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkenyl and alkenyl; R1 and R2 can be the same or different and can be selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylcycloalkyl, alkenyl and alkynyl. The active compounds are made by reacting the intermediate compounds with an oxidizing agent.
