Abstract

Abstract Water soluble xanthan gum can be prepared as highly concentrated pumpable suspensions in alcohol-water carriers using hydroxyalkyl cellulose derivatives as the suspending agents. The amount of hydroxyalkyl cellulose in the total composition is between 0.5 and 1.0%, which can be used to suspend between 20 and 50% xanthan.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 42 words
The process of preparing a pumpable suspension of a water soluble xanthan gum which comprises mixing about 20 to 50% of said xanthan gum and about 0.5 to 10% hydroxyalkyl cellulose derivative in an alcohol solvent or in an alcohol-water solvent system.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 42 words
The process of preparing a pumpable suspension of a water soluble xanthan gum which comprises mixing about 20 to 50% of said xanthan gum and about 0.5 to 10% hydroxyalkyl cellulose derivative in an alcohol solvent or in an alcohol-water solvent system.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 24 words
