Abstract Bromoacetanilides as new compositions and their activity as microbiocides. Representative compounds include 3''-hydroxy bromoacetanilide, 3''-(N-methylcarbamoyloxy) bromoacetanilide, 3''(N-isopropylcarbamoyloxy) bromoacetanilide, 3''-(Nallylcarbamoyloxy) bromoacetanilide and 4''-hydroxybromoacetanilide.
