Abstract
Abstract Preparation of mercaptoalkyltrialkoxysilanes by reacting hydrogen sulfide with ethylenically unsaturated trialkoxysilanes in the presence of ultraviolet radiation. In accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention, the reaction is carried out in the presence of organic trialkylphosphite reaction promoters. The products have utility as adhesive promoters and coupling agents.
