Abstract This disclosure describes compounds of the class of 3-alkyl-3(substituted-benzoyl)propionitriles useful as intermediates for the preparation of certain long-acting hypotensive agents of the 6-(substituted-phenyl)-5-alkyl-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinone class.
