Abstract
Abstract Novel liquid crystalline compounds having a cholesteric mesophase are disclosed. The compounds have a relatively low cholesteric mesomorphic temperature range, are typically righthanded and have relatively small effective pitch. Methods of preparing the compounds and uses thereof are also described.
