Abstract

Abstract A semi-conductor solar cell having a back electrode which allows deep infrared light to pass out of the cell into space. The cell back electrode is formed in a pattern which covers less than 10 percent of the bottom surface of the cell. An insulating material having good optical matching characteristics covers the remainder of the bottom surface.
