Abstract
Abstract A marking press device for impressing identification marks upon iron slabs or plates manufactured upon an iron manufacture production line, comprising a truck or carriage capable of moving forwardly toward a plate to be marked, a marking press mechanism supported by the truck and capable of moving relative to the truck a predetermined distance by an auxiliary driving mechanism, reciprocable pistons fitted within cylinders of the marking press mechanism, and marking elements also fitted within the cylinders and actuated by the pistons. Reciprocal drive means retract the truck away from the plate at the conclusion of the marking operation, as well as move such forwardly again for the next operation, and the apparatus also includes means for automatically stopping the marking press mechanism at a predetermined position relative to the slab to be marked as well as means for automatically adjusting the position of the marking press mechanism whereby the marking element will be perpendicular to the surface of the slab upon which the marked indicia will be impressed.
