Abstract

Abstract Multiplexed seismic data representing a plurality of seismic channels intensity modulates each sweep of the electron beam of a cathode-ray tube. Each successive sweep of the electron beam is photographically reproduced on a rotating drum plotter to provide a plurality of seismic traces. Alpha-numeric characters, which annotate the seismic traces being recorded, are stored in digital bit matrix form. A generator produces clock pulses for multiplexing the bit information out of storage to modulate the electron beam of the cathode-ray tube and thereby cause a line of alpha-numeric characters to be photographically reproduced on the rotating drum plotter. One counter counts the clock pulses and provides the necessary control for spacing between the reproduced characters. Another counter counts the sweeps of the electron beam and provides the necessary control for both the height of the reproduced characters and the spacing between lines of the reproduced characters.
