Abstract
Abstract A carbon fiber current collection brush comprises a carbon body having a plurality of spaced apertures therethrough, a plurality of elongated carbon fibers positioned in each of the apertures and extending outwardly therefrom in both opposite directions, a flexible metallic sheath covering the portion of the fibers within each of the apertures and the portion of the fibers extending outwardly in one direction, and the fibers extending outwardly in the other direction being exposed and being generally of uniform length from the edge of the carbon body. A method is described for making such a brush.
