Abstract
Abstract A process for the preparation of a granular activated carbon by treating synthetic and/or natural rubber in the form of cut up or ground rubber objects with sulphur, sulphuric acid, sulphur trioxide, chlorosulphonic acid and/or sulphuryl chloride in an amount of 0.05 to 12 parts by weight per part by weight of the rubber and pyrolysing the treated rubber at a temperature of 350* to 1000*C.
