Abstract

Abstract Improved processability in EPM and EPDM rubbers has been achieved by blending a previously formed low molecular weight polymer with a previously formed high molecular weight polymer component in the ratios of 0.7 to 1.3 low molecular weight to high molecular weight components and in which in the EPM system the low molecular weight component has a molecular weight average of less than 10,000 and the high molecular weight component has a molecular weight average of ML1 8 at 300*F above 90 and in which the EPDM rubber has a low molecular weight component having a molecular weight average of less than 25,000 and a high molecular weight component having a high molecular weight of ML1 8 at 300*F in excess of 100.
