Abstract
Abstract A neutralized solution of polymer prepared by the free radical polymerization of an alpha, beta unsaturated acid, e.g., acrylic acid with small amounts of an alkyl ester an alpha, beta unsaturated acid and allyl alcohol when added to an aqueous pigment slurry at a rate of less than one percent polymer solids by weight of pulp present yields improved pigment dispersion having significantly lower viscosity.
