Claim 1
Independent Claim
139 words
A urinary collection device for use with the ileal conduit comprising bag means adapted to receive the urine, conduit means connected between said ileal conduit and said bag means for directly carrying said urine to said bag, said conduit means comprising a projection member insertable in said ileal conduit, said projection member having an outer wall, said ileal conduit having an inner wall, said outer wall of said projection member conforming to and fitting against said inner wall of said ileal conduit, wherein the outer wall of said projection member forms a seal with the inner wall of said ileal conduit, said projection member comprising a soft distensible enlarged distal end, said soft distensible enlarged distal end returning to its enlarged configuration when said projection member is fully inserted in said ileal conduit for self-retaining the projection member therein.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
18 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 1, wherein said projection member comprises a rubbery material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
18 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 2, wherein said rubbery material comprises a plastic material.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
27 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 1, wherein said projection member is formed of a material at least as soft as said ileal conduit.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
29 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 1, comprising strap means connected to said urinary collection device help to maintain said projection member in said ileal conduit.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
25 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 1, wherein said soft distensible enlarged distal end of said projection member comprises a bulbous configuration.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
57 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a spacer member attached to said projection member for accommodating said urinary collection device to the shape of the stomach of the patient, said spacer member maintaining said bag means away from contacting the ileal bud which projects slightly above the surface of the stomach.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
31 words
A urinary collection device as set forth in claim 7, comprising adhesive means attached to said spacer member to secure said spacer member and said projection member in said ileal conduit.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
180 words
A urinary collection device for use with the ileal conduit during the time the ileal bud projects above the surface of the skin of a patient, said collection device comprising bag means adapted to receive the urine, conduit means connected between said ileal conduit and said bag means for directly carrying said urine to said bag, said conduit means comprising a projection member insertable in said ileal conduit, said projection member having an outer wall, said ileal conduit having an inner wall, said outer wall of said projection member conforming to and fitting against said inner wall of said ileal conduit, wherein the outer wall of said projection member forms a seal with the inner wall of said ileal conduit, means for holding said projection member in said ileal conduit, and a hollow spacer member attached to said projection member for accommodating said urinary collection device to the shape of the stomach of the patient, said hollow spacer member maintaining a distance between said ileal bud and said bag means for preventing said ileal bud from contacting said bag means.
Claim 11
