Abstract

Abstract The belt buckle is composed of a simple pin for mounting in the yoked loop end of the belt which normally holds the buckle shaft from which the tongue is extended to enter a selected hole in the other end of the belt. The pin has a lug on its side which is tapped to threadedly receive the tongue bolt so that it passes through the slot in the yoked loop end of the belt. The tongue bolt is tightened into this lug from the back of the belt so that it protrudes normally to the front face of the belt for receiving a nut after the other end of the belt has been pulled up for the tongue bolt to enter the selected hole in its pierced end, to clamp the belt ends together. This nut may be capped and may be provided with any suitable ornaments if desired, and may be round, oval or any other shape for easy handling.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 109 words
A belt buckle for a belt having a pierced end and a yoked loop end with a central tongue slot through which the tongue normally extends from its shaft which is held in the yoked loop of the belt, comprising a pin mounted in said yoked loop and a bolt extending through said slot at the inner side of said pin and forming a tongue protruding normally from the face of said loop end of the belt for receiving said pierced end at a selected hole therein, and a clamp nut for mounting on the protruding end of said bolt to clamp said belt ends together in buckled position.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 109 words
A belt buckle for a belt having a pierced end and a yoked loop end with a central tongue slot through which the tongue normally extends from its shaft which is held in the yoked loop of the belt, comprising a pin mounted in said yoked loop and a bolt extending through said slot at the inner side of said pin and forming a tongue protruding normally from the face of said loop end of the belt for receiving said pierced end at a selected hole therein, and a clamp nut for mounting on the protruding end of said bolt to clamp said belt ends together in buckled position.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 36 words
A belt buckle as defined in claim 1, said pin having a lug extending from its inner side into said slot with a guide hole for said bolt which is passed therethrough to form said tongue.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 46 words
A belt buckle as defined in claim 1, said clamp nut having an ornamental cap of suitable size and shape to be readily handled, and the bolt and nut having a thread of high pitch to enable quick clamping with minimum turning of the clamp nut.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
A belt buckle as defined in claim 2, said guide hole being threaded for receiving the thread of said bolt.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 27 words
