Abstract

Abstract Immunological reagents capable of direct agglutination with antigens are prepared by pre-polymerizing the antibody to form an aggregate and then coupling this aggregate to a microbial cell carrier particle with a chemical coupling agent. The prepolymerization of the antibody can be accomplished by the use of the same or another coupling agent. The use of the microbial cell carrier particle allows the reagents formed to be used as immunological indicator particles in slide tests which permit a quick read-out of test results. The reagent formed may be prepared and shipped in dry form and then reconstituted with liquid for use.
