Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 34 words
A pen nib composed of a relatively rigid, ink-permeable metal foam material, said foam material having an open-cell structure, said structure having apertures between the cells, said apertures constituting the pores of the structure.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 34 words
A pen nib composed of a relatively rigid, ink-permeable metal foam material, said foam material having an open-cell structure, said structure having apertures between the cells, said apertures constituting the pores of the structure.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 24 words
A pen nib according to claim 1, wherein the foam material has from 30 to 80 percent of its total volume as cell space.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 35 words
A pen nib according to claim 1, wherein the foam material has a mean pore size of from 10 6 to 10 4 metres with a cell size less than 3 X 10 4 metres.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 28 words
A pen nib according to claim 3, wherein the thickness of material between the pores of the foam is at least one tenth of said mean pore size.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
A pen nib according to claim 1, wherein the foam material is of nickel.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
A pen nib according to claim 1, wherein the foam material is of a nickel/chromium alloy.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 16 words
A pen nib according to claim 1, wherein the foam material is of an iron/chromium alloy.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 69 words
A pen nib composed of a relatively rigid, ink-permeable metal foam material, said foam material having a structure of open-cells with from 30 to 80 percent of its total volume as cell space and with the size of the cells less than 3 X 10 4 metres, said structure having apertures between the cells, said apertures having a mean pore size of from 10 6 to 10 4 metres.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 69 words
A pen nib composed of a relatively rigid, ink-permeable metal foam material, said foam material having a structure of open-cells with from 30 to 80 percent of its total volume as cell space and with the size of the cells less than 3 X 10 4 metres, said structure having apertures between the cells, said apertures having a mean pore size of from 10 6 to 10 4 metres.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 18 words
A pen nib according to claim 8, wherein the cells are elongated in the direction of ink flow.
