Abstract

Abstract A strain of the novel species Pseudomonas lactamolyticus (NRRL B-5749), which has an ability of utilizing Epsilon -caprolactam as sole carbon and nitrogen sources, is cultured in a culturing medium under aerobic conditions. The process is useful for a treatment of polyamide plant waste liquor which contains Epsilon -caprolactam, whereby the waste liquor is decreased in BOD and this is purified.
