Abstract

Abstract Novel, nonabsorbable nonnutritive sweeteners of the general formula (Am).sub.n C wherein Am is a means for producing a sweetening response in a sensory environment, C is a means for essentially controlling the absorption of Am in a biological environment, .about. is a means for permanently covalently bonding Am to C, and n is at least one. The nonabsorbable nonnutritive sweeteners are useful for producing a sweet effect without any substantial absorption of the nonabsorbable nonnutritive sweetener in the biological environment.
