Abstract
Abstract This disclosure is directed to a door latch and dead bolt assembly which includes a door latch assembly with associated door knob and/or key lock and a dead bolt assembly. The respective door latch assembly and dead bolt assembly are interconnected by a pulley and cable arrangement which enables the dead bolt to be retracted from a locked position to an unlocked position by rotation of a door knob spindle in either direction and whereby the dead bolt can be operated between a locked and unlocked position independently of the door latch.
