Abstract
Abstract A fire retardant system comprising a compound having within its structure the 1,2,3,4,9,9-hexahalo-1,4-dihydro-1,4methanonaphthalene-5,8-dione or 1,2,3,4,9,9-hexahalo-1,4-dihydro1,4-methanonaphthalene-5,8-dioxy nucleus or a compound which is capable of being converted to the 1,2,3,4,9,9-hexahalo-1,4dihydro-1,4-methanonaphthalene-5,8-dione nucleus and requires no metal oxide addition to exert its function.
