Abstract
Abstract A smokable product which comprises a carbonized cellulose-based film comprising about 5 to 50% by weight of at least one inorganic filler, the cellulose of the film having a degree of degradation of about 5 to 30% by weight and a carbon-to-water molar ratio of about 1:0.8 to 1:1. The film may also contain a soluble neutral salt. It is prepared by subjecting a suitably filled cellulose film to a temperature of about 150* to 300*C for a time sufficient to degrade the cellulose the amount indicated.
