Abstract Novel compositions of matter comprising N-substituted polybromoaromatic ortho-dicarboximides as exemplified by 1,4,5,6tetrabromo-2,3-phthaloimide are useful as additives for plastics, polymers, resins, etc. whereby flameproof or fire-retardant properties are added thereto.
