Abstract
Abstract The reaction products of hydrocarbon polyamines having a long, substantially aliphatic, oil-solubilizing hydrocarbon chain bonded to a di- or higher polyamine with certain polyfunctional coupling agents find use as dispersants in lubricating oils. The hydrocarbon group is normally branched and derived from natural sources or polyolefins. The polyfunctional coupling agents are certain polycarboxylic acids, organic polyisocyanates, and polyhalides.
