Abstract
Abstract Compounds of the formula: AND THEIR PHARMACEUTICALLY SUITABLE SALTS, WHERE ALK IS ALKYLENE, R'' is phenyl, substituted phenyl, or morpholino, and R is hydrogen or acetyl, useful as analgesics. Some are also useful as antipyretics, antiinflammatory agents and immunosuppressive agents. The compounds where R is hydrogen are prepared by reaction of a hydroxy-phthalaldehydic acid with an O(substituted)hydroxylamine of the formula H2N-O-alk-R''. The compounds where R is acetoxy are prepared by acetylation of the compounds wherein R is hydrogen.
