Abstract
Abstract Two chambers are provided of which one is to contain an oxygenconsuming substance and the other is to have oxygen introduced into it. The two chambers are separated from one another by a gas-permeable membrane and oxygen can pass through the latter. A measuring unit measures the oxygen content in the oxygencontaining chamber so as to determine the consumption of oxygen by the substance in the other chamber.
