Abstract The disclosure is directed to 5-amino-2,6-substituted-7Hpyrrolo(2,3-d)pyrimidines and related compounds and to 4-halo-5pyrimidinecarbonitriles and their derivatives. The compounds have central nervous system activity as depressants. That is, they produce a calming effect in the host.
